Why Britain Clock Co.?
The Britain Clock Co is a long establised family company, handcrafting clocks in their traditional workshop in Birmingham.
Father and son, Ron and Chris still use traditional production methods, keeping machining to a minimum and with no computer controlled equipment. Clock cases are cut in the established and traditional manner and several grades of pre0finishing are applied being staining and lacquering by hand.
The movements are hand assembled into the cases - and only the finest German movements are used.
It is good is see some of the old English clockmakers still in practising their craft despite the onslaught of cheap Far East imports and imitations.
In recent months, I am pleased to say that the Britain Clock Co. have taken on the previous FW Needham mantel and barometer range (previously Woodford brand) and are making the same clocks and barometers that they used to make for FW Needham but under their own company name
